Yueqi Li (Queenie)

Yueqi Li (Queenie) is a dedicated classical guitarist and educator with a robust background in both performance and teaching. She began her studies under renowned guitarists Bozhong Du and Danny Yeh in China, and further honed her skills in Australia, where she completed a Bachelor of Music in Classical Performance and a Master of Performance and Pedagogy at the Elder Conservatorium of Music under the guidance of Dr. Oliver Fartach-Naini. During her studies, she was the recipient of the Michael Robert Poag Scholarships in 2018 and 2022, as well as the University of Adelaide Higher Education Scholarship (International) in 2021. Queenie has also participated in masterclasses with prominent international classical guitarists, including Song-ou Lee (South Korea), Raffaele Agostino (Australia), Leonardo Bravo (Argentina), Ken Murray (Australia), Jose Maria Gallardo de Rey (Spain), Kyuhee Park (South Korea), and Andrea González Caballero (Spain).

Her performance achievements include a third-place award in the Open Age Category of the 2016 Adelaide Eisteddfod Guitar Competition. She has performed both as a soloist and as a member of the Elder Conservatorium Guitar Ensemble at prestigious events such as the Elder Conservatorium Guitarissimo concert series, the 2023 and 2017 South Korea International Guitar Festivals, and Guitarissimo at the South Korea Tongyeong Concert Hall. Locally, she has performed with the ensemble at the 2018 and 2016 Adelaide Guitar Festivals.

 

With extensive teaching experience, Queenie works with students of all ages, helping them progress from beginner to professional levels. All of her AMEB exam students have achieved A or A+ results. Under her guidance, several students have won prizes in the 2023 and 2024 Adelaide Eisteddfod Competitions. Her teaching philosophy emphasizes a holistic approach, blending classical technique with cognitive development to inspire a deep appreciation for music and foster her students' overall growth as musicians.
