Classical guitar students from the University of Adelaide's Elder Conservatorium of Music will showcase their talent at a free concert in Elder Hall 4 pm Saturday 13 November.
Under the direction of senior lecturer Dr Oliver Fartach-Naini, 12 undergraduate and postgraduate students will perform an eclectic program of solo and chamber music as part of this year’s Guitarathon. The stylistically diverse program includes works by Johann Sebastian Bach, Johann Kaspar Mertz, Leo Brouwer, Miguel Llobet, Carlo Domeniconi, Philip Houghton, Astor Piazzolla, Bryan Johansson, Isaac Albeniz, Maximo Diego Pujol, James Rawley, Gary Ryan, Alan Thomas, Heitor Villa-Lobos, Fernando Sor and many more. The non-stop event will culminate in a performance of the Elder Conservatorium Guitar Ensemble featuring the combined talents of Emanuel Auciello, Megan Robson, Connor Whyte, Eduardo Ruiz, Jack Daws, Callum Goodhand, Alexandra Shepherd, Caleb Lavery-Brook, Queenie Li and James Rawley.
Performances will start at 4 pm, with each performer lasting anywhere between 15 to 60 minutes.
The event is proudly sponsored by Kay Brothers Winery and will be live-streamed.
